Files tab

The tab groups all the files in the workspaces. In the tab, the files are categorized according to the item to which they are linked :

  • Files in the workspace - those added from the Files tab

  • Files attached to workspaces tasks

  • Attachments to workspaces meetings

To access the Files tab of a workspaces :

  1. Go to the space in question

  2. Click on the Files tab

Adding files to a workspaces

To add files to the workspaces, click Upload File.

A window opens and offers two options to add :

  • Drag and drop files

  • Access computer folders by clicking on Choose Files

Files from space

Files added to the workspaces are viewed in this category. These are files that are relevant to workspace members without necessarily being linked to a task or meeting.

Files attached to tasks

The files attached to the workspaces tasks are listed in the tab. To access them, click the funnel button (1) and then click the Attachments to tasks filter (2).

Tip: you want to know which task is related to the selected file? Click on the file to view the information pane (3). In this pane, a link allows you to view the task to which the file is linked (4). There can be several tasks linked to the same file.

Files attached to meetings

Attachments to workspaces meetings are listed in the tab. To access them, click the funnel button (1) and then click the Meeting Attachments filter (2).

Tip: Want to know which meeting is related to the selected file? Click the file to view the information pane (3). In the information pane, you'll see a link to view the meeting to which the file is related (4). There can be multiple meetings linked to the same file.

All files in the space

All files related to the space are listed in the tab. To access them, click on the funnel button (1) and then on the filter All (2).

Sort files

By clicking on the column headers it is possible to choose the sorting mode of the :

  • Sort by name

  • Sorting by size

  • Sort by update date

  • Sort by user

Information pane

This pane opens on the right side of the screen when you click on a file in the tab. The information mentioned about the file is as follows:

  • Name

  • Format

  • Location

  • Date and time of addition

  • Weight

  • User at the origin of the addition

  • Links to the elements to which the file is linked

Version management

WEDO manages conflicts between different versions of the same file. When a file of the same format and name is added to the workspaces, WEDO offers two options for handling the conflict:

  • Replace the existing file with the newly added version

  • Keep both versions of the file in the workspaces

Info: if you want to choose the second option, a suffix with the version number automatically completes the name of the added file (ex: _2 ; _3 ; _4 ; etc.)

For each file, there is a version history that can be consulted via a specific pane. To access it, click on the file and then on the versions pane.

It is possible to download, restore or delete a version. In order to do so :

  • Click on the button with the three vertical points of the concerned version

  • Select the appropriate action

Search through the files in the space

A search tool is available in the Files tab. The search is only done through the selected filter.

Each user can also start a search through the files of all the workspaces of which he is a member.
